A majestic Norway spruce and pathway luminaries welcome you to America’s Largest Home®. Inside, thousands of ornaments reflect the soft glow of candles, fireplaces, and twinkle lights. The magic continues in Antler Hill Village, which is festooned with glittering lights, ornaments, and displays.
Winter Lights at the North Carolina Arboretum
November 17 – December 31
Winter Lights is a spectacular open-air walk-through light show made from over one million lights! Located at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, North Carolina, this year’s event features favorites like the famously tall 50-foot lighted tree and the Quilt Garden, along with enchanting new details designed to delight and surprise. Please leave furry pets at home.
National Gingerbread House Competition

It all began with a small group of gingerbread houses built by community members in 1992 as another way to celebrate the holiday season with no plans to continue the following year. There was no possible way to know that more than two decades later The Omni Grove Park Inn National Gingerbread House Competition™ would be one of the nation’s most celebrated and competitive holiday events. The Gingerbread Display has grown in more than just entries; it has become a true family holiday tradition. From the very young to the very young at heart, the reaction to this magical experience is the same – one of wonder, awe and delight.

One of the most popular traditions, is choosing and cutting the perfect Christmas tree! People from near and far come to our corner of the NC Smoky Mountains to secure one of our beautiful, homegrown Fraser Fir Christmas trees, wreaths, and garland for their fresh scents. You can find one for your crew at one of our mountainside’s four farms, Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm, Mehaffey Tree Farm, and Smoky Mountain Christmas Tree Farm.

Come and celebrate the season as the Canton Christmas Parade marches through downtown Canton, NC. This parade is a community favorite! Parade begins at 6pm on December 7, 2023.
Winchester Creek Farm – Holiday Farm Tours
November 24 – December 24
Winchester Farm will be decorated for the Holidays! Interact with and learn about the animals, visit with Santa during the tour, receive a decorated cookie and a candy cane, and help Teddy gather toys for children in Haywood County by participating in Teddy’s Toy Drive. Make family memories!
