Amenity Areas
We’ve designed The Glamping Collective as a place you can find all the privacy you want while creating shared spaces to make new friends! We have two separate flagstone patio areas with fire pits and gas grills for our guests to use. You’ll find both with ample seating, picnic tables, grill tools, firewood and lighters.
Hiking Trails
As a guest at The Glamping Collective you’ll have access to 5 miles of private hiking trails. We’ve worked to build trails that take you to stunning views, beautiful old trees and some crazy rock formations where you can see years of natural history before your eyes. No matter what you trail you choose, your guaranteed some Instaworthy moments and we’d love to see your experiences. Please tag your photos with #theglampingcollective
Sunset Summit Trail
No trip to The Glamping Collective is complete without catching the sunset (or sunrise for you morning people), from Sunset Summit! This is a 1 mile, one way, out and back hike that can be steep in places. Look for the trail sign from the Geo Domes Amenity Area and then continue to follow the yellow blaze to the summit and back. There are several scenic outlooks and beautiful boulders to take in along the way. This is a great hike for wildlife lovers with deer and wild turkey commonly spotted.
To access Sunset Summit Trail please park and walk from your accommodations. If needed, there is limited parking in the Geo Dome parking right in front of the sign to the trail. Please do not park in the spots reserved for guests staying in the Geo Domes or on the side of the parking lot.
Creekside Trail
The Creekside Trail is our founder’s favorite place to be after a heavy rain! The top of the trail utilizes our XL Domes road, taking you past the point where 4 streams come together to form a 70 feet cascading waterfall. It winds it’s way down the mountain, coming alongside the streams again about halfway through before passing back by a point where these streams have all converged into one. This is the spot to be after a heavy rain as water finds its way down the mountain into our regions beautiful trout streams!
The Creekside Trail is accessed off of the road to the XL Domes. Follow this road until it becomes unimproved old logging road, after a short walk follow the blue blazes as the trail cuts downhill to your right. The end of trail reconnects to an old logging road before returning to the main road that will take you back up the mountain to all accommodations. There is no parking at the top or bottom of the trailhead, please park and walk from your accommodations.
Ridgeline Trail
Our Ridgeline Trail leaves from the Glass Cabins Amenity area, follow the gravel road and start heading up the mountain. Look for the Ridgeline Trail sign on your left (before the gate) and then continue to follow the green blazes for .5 miles. This trail follows along one of our ridgelines before winding its way down to the road you entered the mountain on. From this point, you can follow the road back up to our Geo Domes or Glass Cabins, or head further down the mountain to pick up the Creekside Trail. There is no parking at the top or bottom of the trailhead, please park and walk from your accommodations.
Stargazing
Up on the mountain, away from the city lights the stars come alive! Prepare to experience stargazing like you haven’t seen before! Most months of the year you can see the milky way galaxy directly overhead bright and clear! There are so many places to take them in from but a few of our favorites are the private hot tubs, around the community fire pits or simply curled up in your bed! The more adventurous can take them in from Sunset Summit — we love being up there after dark on a clear night!
One of the best things to do is to plan a trip around upcoming meteor showers — do a quick Google search to find upcoming meteor showers!
Yoga
The mountain provides the perfect setting for personal yoga on your private deck!
SpaceX Dragon Debris
On May 22, 2024 a member of our landscaping crew discovered debris that experts have identified as the “trunk” from SpaceX Dragon Crew-7 manned mission to the International Space Station. The debris was discovered about a half mile up our Sunset Summit Trail.
We invite you to come experience this yourself! Starting Monday June 3rd we will have the space debris on display for your viewing at the start of our Sunset Summit Trail!
